Pastor Lisa Avery

is a native Washingtonian. In July 1988, she married Eric Avery. She received salvation in 1989. As Pastor Lisa received the Word of God in her heart, it became evident to her and others that God had a call on her life for ministry. Therefore, the process of preparation for ministry began. She faithfully attended and served in her local church. She attended Jericho Bible College. In 1998, Pastor Lisa ministered for the first time in Bluefield, WV. In April 2002, Bishop Frederick Brown in Bluefield, WV, ordained Pastor Lisa under the ministry of Communion of Covenant Ministries, International. God has equipped her with the anointing to restore relationships between families, friends, and the body of Christ as a whole. She is a woman after God's own heart, always making herself available to meet the needs of others.

Pastors Eric and Lisa Avery are the Founders of Soteria Christian Center, which began in June 2004. Together they are committed to giving instructions from God's Word to teach His people the importance of Salvation, marriage and the family. Pastors Eric and Lisa taught Bible Study in their home for four years with visible evidence of change in the lives of everyone who attended. Pastor Lisa believes that if the body of Christ really understands the powerful meaning of Salvation, we would not be defeated by the enemy in any area of our lives. "Once we stand in the knowledge of Salvation, we will obtain all the promises of God" (Luke 1:77).

Pastor Lisa is the Founder of Praying Ladies of Soteria, a woman's group who calls themselves "PLS' for short, which means "devil please'!!! This group was founded while teaching bible study in their home. As a mother of four beautiful daughters, Erica, Latisha, Mykisha and Destiny, Pastor Lisa passionately encourages women to fulfill the purpose of God in their lives. Her teaching inspires and challenges women to develop a strong relationship with God and with their families. She is an anointed, uncompromising teacher of the Word of God.
